Since 2006, thousands of Cambodian families lost their land to provide us with the sugar we put in cakes, soft drinks and coffee. Forcibly evicted from their houses and fields to make space for industrial sugar plantations destined to Europe, they lost their income and the chance to give their children a better future. Now, local communities and human rights associations have forced the European Union to take responsibility and investigate this inhuman trade.
