Indonesia – Sumatra – Banda Aceh – Ulee Lheue – Yuliawati stands on the beach of the neighbourhood where she grew up and which was the hardest hit by the 2004 tsunami. A 50-year-old mother of five who miraculously survived the fury of the three giant waves lost her parents and four brothers that day. Half of Ulee Lheue literally disappeared under the destructive force of the water, becoming open sea, but Yuliawati's luck didn't help in soothing her pain: “It's more than just missing my family” she explains. “Every time I pass by the mass grave where they might be buried, I get goose bumps”.
