Despite an average per capita consumption of just 1,7 bottles per year, China is already the fi-fth largest wine consuming country in the world and has the second largest area under vine after Spain. <br />

Despite the quality of its wine, many Ningxia wineries struggle with sales and marketing. The re-gion still lacks a big brand identifiable by consumers. As a result, a good portion of Ningxia wine is sold as bulk wine to cut imported bottles or upgrade wine from other Chinese regions.
