The Slaves of mica, India

India - Jharkhand - Dhab - Young villagers who have just returned from a morning spent in the mines comb their hair and wash their face before lunch. Mica mining employs everyone in Koderma, from grown-ups to children. Once dug, underground holes spread orizontally, like mine shafts. But the lack of proper instruments and the impossibility of strenghtening the walls means mines collapse frequently, burying and sometimes killing diggers.
