China - Ningxia - Traditional Chinese food being cooked for the opening ceremony of the Chateau. The grand opening of the Chateau Copower Jade, on the outskirts of Yinchuan. The 80-hectare-vineyard and the winery’s modern structure cost 19 million euros and won the 2018 RVF Wine Design Award.
The Copower Jade chateau belongs to an oil exploration and import company based in Hong Kong. It has 11 varieties of grapes and a total production capacity of 800,000 bottles per year.
Around 90 per cent of Ningxia’s wine production focuses on red, with cabernet-sauvignon as the most popular variety. Several other varieties were introduced in the past years, including Merlot, Marselan, Malbec, Shiraz, Pinot Noir and, for white wine, Chardonnay and Italian Riesling.
