Uzbekistan - Tashkent - A resident of The Pearl opens her apartement door. This 17-storey-building is one of the finest examples of Soviet brutalism in Tashkent. Flats were built around a series of internal squares (each serving three floors) that can be used as gardens, playgrounds or gathering places, reinforcing community spirit and cooperation among residents.
