China - Ningxia - A visitor touring the Museum of Chateau Changyu Moser XV, one of the most impressive wineries of Ningxia. It was inaugurated on the 18 of August 2013, after three years of construction at a cost of 70 million euros. The chateau is a joint venture between Changyu, China’s oldest winery, and Lenz Maria Moser, the fifteenth generation direct descendant from the renowned Moser wine family in Austria.
Contrary to other wineries in Ningxia, Chateau Changyu Moser XV has decided to primarily focus on the overseas market. “In order to be successful on the home front China has to benchmark itself internationally, otherwise it will never get to a world standard”, explains chief winemaker Lenz Maria Moser.
